About the Allen County Fair

About the Allen County Fair

Since 1851 The Allen County Fair has been the premier showcase for Agriculture in West Central Ohio. As a result of holding such a great responsibility to the community, the Allen County Fair Board has always centered their purpose and goals on values, education, agriculture, youth and families. The Fair's long standing history within the community has built its reputation as an enjoyable source of family entertainment and learning. Not only is the Fair an excellent means for bringing the family together, it also lends a way for community members to showcase talents, products and ideas in a supportive and rewarding atmosphere.

There are so many ways for a person to become involved with the Allen County Fair. No other event draws from as many areas or involves the cooperation of so many people as does the Fair. Included in the 210,000 visitors at last year's Allen County Fair were more than 800 Senior Fair exhibitors, 1400 4-H exhibitors, 117 Agricultural Education exhibitors, 350 Girl Scouts, 330 Junior Fair Advisors, over 170 concessionaires with more than 300 exhibits/trailers, over 430 Junior Fair livestock sale participants, and 780 livestock buyers.

That's only a small part of what the Fair has to offer! Featured concerts for this year's fair include Gretchen Wilson and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Other crowd pleasing events include the Kewpee Showcase of Bands, The Rough Truck Competition, and Tug-A-Truck. Add harness racing, a demolition derby and a cheerleading competition plus free entertainment daily, and you have the highlights of what the Allen County Fair can offer to the public. Keeping these things in mind, we would like to invite you to spend a few days with us here in Lima, Ohio and experience all of the fun and excitement that the 158th Allen County Fair has to offer!
