Allen County Jr. Fair

Blue Ribbon Building Campaign

REASON TO DONATE

The Allen County Fair provides opportunities for more than 1400 boys and girls to learn responsibility, exhibit leadership, and participate in competition and fair play while meeting new friends and renewing acquaintances in a fun, family atmosphere.

These opportunities are available because people like you have given of their time, resources and funds to our youth through the activities and organizations that make up the Allen County Fair.

To continue our advocacy of the youth in our community The Allen County Agricultural Society Board of Directors is in unanimous support of The JR. FAIR BLUE RIBBON CAPITAL CAMPAIGN. Our goal is to raise $1,400,000.00 for the constructions of the following three projects:

Jr. Fair Science and Exposition Building

Estimated cost: $975,000

Sheep and Goat Barn

Estimated cost: $170,000

Jr. Fair Horse Barn Addition

Estimated cost: $255,000

Total estimated cost of Blue Ribbon Building Projects $1,400,000

BUILDING PROJECTS

JR. FAIR SCIENCE AND EXPOSITION BUILDING

Construction of a 25,000 sq. ft. Jr. Fair Building with 18,000 sq. ft. of open exhibit space, air conditioned, with restrooms, meeting rooms, and office and storage area, and will be used during the fair for display of Jr. Fair exhibits and all other non livestock Jr. Fair activities such as the Style Show, Jr. Fair dances, Judging and the Jr. Fair Dog Show. The addition of this building would allow the present Youth Activities Building to be used for Ag and Fine Art Displays relieving present crowded conditions. The current Youth Exhibits Building would become the Merchants Building annex to allow expansion of those displays.

The Jr. Fair Science and Exposition Building will be used year round and will be a tremendous asset to our fairgrounds facility. The building will be available for use by Jr. Fair groups and for rent by the public.

SHEEP/GOAT BARN

The barn will be 50'x240' and house the Jr. Fair Sheep and Goat projects with room for a show arena in the center. The barn would be open sided with portable pens to allow maximum flexibility.

JR. FAIR HORSE BARN ADDITION

The addition will be 100'x125'. The present barn is 100'x125' and was originally designed to be 200'x125'. The horse department is one of the fastest growing Jr. Fair departments and has had 18-20 projects housed in tents the last few years. Construction of the addition would allow all projects to be in a barn and allow for future expansion of the department.
